Boasting a staggering collection of over 3,600 lots, this auction is a must-see for enthusiasts and collectors alike. From complete 1950s baseball card sets to rare vintage cards and unique memorabilia, this event offers a treasure trove of sports history.

Kicking off last Thursday, this auction will run for ten days, allowing bidders to dive into a world of sporting nostalgia. Among the standout lots are the T206 White Border Ty Cobb Bat Off Shoulder card from 1909-1911 with a rare Uzit back, as well as a Ty Cobb rookie card from the 1907 Wolverine News Postcard series. These pieces harken back to the early days of baseball and are sure to capture the attention of avid collectors.

The auction also features iconic vintage baseball sets such as the 1957 Topps Complete Set and the near-complete 1958 Topps set. Additionally, high-grade cards from the 1950s Bowman and Topps sets, including rookie cards of baseball legends like Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, and Sandy Koufax, add to the allure of the collection. A complete set break of the legendary 1951 Bowman set is another highlight of this event.

Beyond baseball cards, the auction showcases a range of sports memorabilia that is equally captivating. Items like a ticket stub from the 1957 NFL Championship Game and a 1920 Real Photo Postcard featuring the Harvard football team that competed in the Rose Bowl provide a glimpse into the rich tapestry of sporting history.

REA President Brian Dwyer has expressed sheer enthusiasm for the auction, emphasizing the exceptional quality of the lots following the record-breaking $15.4 million spring sale. With a keen eye on collector interest and the premium nature of the items on offer, the May Encore auction promises an unforgettable experience for sports memorabilia enthusiasts.
