Fanatics Collectibles, in collaboration with Fanatics Live, has unveiled an exciting new initiative called ‘The Ten’. This program is designed to showcase and reward the discovery of the top 10 sports cards in the market. Drawing inspiration from popular lists like the “Billboard Hot 100” and the FBI’s “Most Wanted”, ‘The Ten’ presents a dynamic selection of 10 cards from different sports. Collectors who successfully find one of these cards on the Fanatics Live app will be awarded an impressive $10,000 in Fanatics Live credit.
‘The Ten’ will feature a monthly rotation of cards that have been chosen for their popularity and rarity. For instance, collectors may come across cards such as the highly sought-after 2023-24 Bowman Chrome University Bronny James/LeBron James 1/1 dual-auto card. Another intriguing addition to ‘The Ten’ is the yet-to-be-pulled 2023 Bowman Chrome Baseball Draft Tom Brady 12/50 inscribed card.
The inaugural list of ‘The Ten’ includes legendary athletes like Tom Brady and Steph Curry, along with rising stars such as MLB’s Corbin Carroll and Anthony Volpe, as well as NBA’s Luka Doncic and Chet Holmgren. This diverse portfolio encompasses cards from renowned brands like Panini, Upper Deck, Topps, and Bowman.
James Kollar, the senior director of marketing at Fanatics Live, expressed the program’s goal to enhance the collecting experience. Kollar emphasized Fanatics Live’s commitment to giving back to collectors and the hobby. ‘The Ten’ aims to foster community engagement by allowing Fanatics Live participants and the collecting community to have a say in the monthly card selections.
‘The Ten’ also serves as a platform to promote new products and reignite interest in existing releases through chase cards. It provides dealers and collectors with an exciting opportunity to showcase these cards, generating buzz and sparking discussions within the community.
Fanatics Live plans to feature pack and box breaks, as well as special shows centered around ‘The Ten’, to celebrate major discoveries and announce upcoming cards. A dedicated webpage will keep track of the cards and the collectors who find them, adding to the narrative and building anticipation.
The program, which may include appearances by guest athletes and additional prizes, places a unique emphasis on the stories behind the collectors and their finds. This storytelling aspect adds an intriguing layer to the collecting experience. Since its debut, Fanatics Live has witnessed consistent growth, with viewers spending an average of 56 minutes on the platform. This highlights the emergence of Fanatics Live as a community-focused platform that brings collectors together.
James Kollar expressed his enthusiasm for the potential impact of ‘The Ten’ program on the Fanatics brand and the collector community as a whole. The program aims to reward and recognize collectors, while also fueling excitement and engagement within the collecting community.
‘The Ten’ represents a bold and innovative step in the world of sports card collecting. By highlighting and rewarding the discovery of top cards, Fanatics Live is fostering a sense of community and creating a platform for collectors to share their stories and experiences. With the program’s potential for growth and involvement of guest athletes and additional prizes, ‘The Ten’ is set to become a staple in the sports card collecting world.
