Tom Brady’s Final Pass Auctioned for Animal Welfare

Tom Brady’s final pass as a New England Patriot was not just any throw—it became a defining moment in football history. Intercepted by Logan Ryan of the Tennessee Titans during the 2020 AFC Wild Card Game, the pass marked the end of Brady’s era with the Patriots. Now, that very football from the memorable play is taking on a new role: raising funds for animal welfare.

In the closing seconds of the game, with the Patriots in a tight spot on their one-yard line, Brady’s pass intended for Mohamed Sanu was deflected and caught by Ryan, who returned it for a touchdown. This play not only sealed the Titans’ victory but also signaled the end of Brady’s illustrious 20-year career with the Patriots.

As fate would have it, Brady and Ryan later became teammates with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During their time together in Tampa, Ryan requested Brady to autograph the football from that final play. Brady graciously signed the ball, adding inscriptions that immortalized the moment as his “Last Pass As A Patriot” on “1/4/20” that ended with “Logan Ryan INT.” The signed football quickly gained popularity on social media, captivating fans worldwide.

Both Brady and Ryan share a passion for supporting animal welfare causes, extending beyond their football careers. Their dedication was evident during their time in Tampa Bay, where they volunteered at the Tampa Bay Humane Society. The Brady family even welcomed a kitten into their home from the shelter. Inspired by their mutual love for animals, Ryan has decided to auction the historic football through Goldin Auctions, with all proceeds benefiting the Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation (RARF)—a nonprofit organization he co-founded with his wife, Ashley. RARF’s mission is to provide financial and educational support to shelters and rescues, improving the lives of animals in need.

The football, a Wilson “Duke” ball, has been authenticated as the one from Brady’s final pass as a Patriot, complete with a Letter of Authenticity (LOA) from PSA/DNA. Additionally, it includes a Letter of Provenance signed by Logan Ryan, solidifying its authenticity and significance in NFL history.

The upcoming auction is a rare opportunity for football enthusiasts and Brady fans to own a piece of NFL history while contributing to a noble cause. Ryan emphasizes that the football signifies more than a pivotal play—it symbolizes new beginnings for animals that will benefit from the auction and for the player who once intercepted the legendary quarterback.

Anticipated to attract significant interest, the auction for the football promises to be a thrilling event, considering its rich history and the charitable purpose it serves. Those eager to participate can engage in the auction through Goldin Auctions, knowing that every bid made will directly support RARF’s efforts to better the lives of animals in need.

This auction not only commemorates a historic moment in football but also underscores the enduring commitment of athletes like Ryan and Brady to make a positive impact on the community through meaningful initiatives.
